WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (May 24, 2016)–Baking is in Sheila G. Mains’ blood. She grew up baking with her grandmother Rose and mother Hilda and it was her mom’s Congo Bars that hooked her on chocolate forever. So in 1992, when Sheila was laid off from her CFO position at an industrial advertising agency, she followed her heart and gave baking a whirl. The rest is history. Sheila’s signature brownies were a hit and her beloved Brownie Brittle™ took the snack world by storm. In fact, her award-winning Brownie Brittle™ sold more than 35 million bags alone in the past year crowning Sheila G. Mains as the reigning “Brownie Queen.”

In Sheila’s first cookbook, SHEILA G’S BUTTER & CHOCOLATE: 101 Creative Sweets and Treats Using Brownie Batter (Kyle Books; October 2016; Paperback; $19.95) she shares her passion for chocolate as well as her coveted, world-famous brownie and blondie recipes. Sheila’s goal with this wholly original cookbook is to encourage home bakers to think beyond brownies! Guided by her ideas for using brownie batter in innovative, non-traditional ways, with such creations as Brownie Stuffed French Toast, “Brownie-fied” Strawberries, Brownie Doughnuts, and Cookie Dough Brownies (which were the best-selling dessert at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios for three consecutive years), she showcases the versatility of brownie and blondie batter with 101 recipes. There are breakfast foods, bars and cookies, pies and tarts, little chocolatey bites, elegant desserts, and even cocktails! And, in a pinch, many of the recipes can be made by using your favorite boxed brownie mix – Sheila will give you a tips and tricks to doctor it up.

“Once you have my signature base recipes down pat, you can get creative,” says Sheila from her Florida kitchen. “Experiment with different shaped pans. Make cookies, bars, truffles, or ice-cream sandwiches using these tried-and-true recipes as your starting point. You will be so glad you have these recipes in your repertoire the next time you’re invited to a potluck dinner, or when your child tells you at 9 PM that you’re the dessert parent at school the next day.”

Her simple, from-scratch recipes prove that no matter how busy you are, there is still time to bake. And, no one will be able to resist such decadent desserts and tempting treats like Brownie Pancakes and Waffles, Bruffins (is it a brownie or a muffin?), Brownie Whoopie Pies, Brownie Doughnuts, Brownie Banana Bread, Bacon and Bourbon Brownies, and Peanut Butter Cup Brownies. If blondies are your thing, then don’t miss her White Chocolate Cinnamon Blondies or the inventive Apple Blondies with White Chocolate Chips. Sheila has always been known to think outside the box and with her original creations like Double-Nut Brownie Brittle Squares with Moonshine Whipped Cream, Candy Apple Brownie Cake Pops, Key Lime Truffles, S’mores Brownie Bites, Raspberry Brownie Trifle, and Brownie Mudslide Cocktail, she lives up to her reputation.

Whether you are a chocoholic, brownie lover, or dessert fanatic, you will want to try every recipe in this ingenious cookbook. Sheila hopes that the sweets and treats in SHEILA G’S BUTTER & CHOCOLATE will warm the hearts of your family and friends, and inspire you to create your own butter & chocolate recipes.
